In the parish of Cussac, bearing
the same name as the famous 17th Century fortress built by
Vauban, the wine-growers of "Fort-Medoc" grouped in 1973 in
order to create &a common wine cooperative of "breeding"
and marketting.
Our vineyard is mainly
composed of sand, gravel and pebbles and is surrounded by the most
prestigious "appellations" like the parishes of Saint-Julien
Beychevelle and Margaux. It covers some 13844 acres of Haut-Medoc AOC.

Our
grape varieties are typical of the Medoc: "Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots,
Cabernets Francs and Petits Verdots" .
Thanks to the great
care with the vineyard is grown, to the maturity controls, and to the
hand-made grape-harvesting, we are proud to produce wines of the bestquality.
Fermentations and length
of maceration are carried out according to the rule book of the traditional
know-how of the Medoc wine-making.
We are imbued with
the constant concern for the quality and for the respect of tradition,
so we only use stainless vats and up-to-date equipment.

Several " growths"
or chateaux are separately elaborated in our cellars.
The wine is bottled
after a breeding period of 20 months in vats or in oak barrels: 450000
bottles constitute an average production.
All our wines age and
blossom into the fullness of their savour after a few years but tey have
a remarkable aptitude for long maturing. We ara regularly awarded for
ourefforts and our constant concern for the best quality by a great number
of medals.

You are welcome by
the wine-growers of Fort-Medoc to visit their cellars and to taste their
vintages.
In order to satisfy
your request we can suggest you vintages with a personnal touch, at a
very reasonable price and of the highest quality.
